Adhesive Capsulitis (Frozen Shoulder)
Adhesive capsulitis, commonly known as frozen shoulder, is a condition where the shoulder joint capsule thickens and tightens, causing pain, stiffness, and restricted movement. Adhesive capsulitis can develop spontaneously, or be triggered by a period of immobility i.e., after injury or surgery. Those over the age of 40 and with chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes, thyroid disorders, or heart disease, are at higher risk of developing this condition.
