WorkCover and Surgery Connect Patients

If your consultation is related to a WorkCover claim or you are a Surgery Connect patient, your consultation fees are covered by the respective third party.

DVA Patients

DVA Gold Card and eligible White Card holders are bulk billed for all consultations.

Surgical Fees

Dr Richmond and his team takes Informed Financial Consent very seriously.
If surgery is recommended for your condition, you will be provided with an individualised quote for the indicated procedure.

You will also be advised how to seek estimates for Anaesthetic, Surgical Assistant, and Hospital costs.

Privately Insured Patients

You will receive an itemised quote outlining the Surgical Cost and estimated combined rebate (Private Health Fund plus Medicare).

Dr Richmond’s team will also guide you through the process of ascertaining the other essential costs, including from the Anaesthetist,

Surgical Assistant, and Private Health Fund i.e., excess payable.

The surgical cost for different procedures varies, and reflects both surgical time, procedure complexity, pre and post-operative care.

Full payment of the surgical cost is required 2 weeks prior to surgery. The combined rebate will then be able to be claimed after the procedure.

WorkCover and Surgery Connect Patients

If your surgical procedure is covered by a third-party payer such as WorkCover or Surgery Connect, the surgical costs are covered directly by the third party. There are no out-of-pocket surgical costs for these cases.

DVA Patients

DVA Gold Card and eligible White Card holders generally incur no out-of-pocket surgical costs for approved procedures. The DVA approval process is discussed with patients on a case-by-case basis.

Self-Funded Patients

Some patients who do not have Private Health Insurance, or whose Insurance does not cover the required procedure,

choose to Self-Fund Private Surgery.

If you choose this option, you will receive a itemised quote outlining the Surgical Cost and estimated Medicare rebate.

Dr Richmond’s team will also guide you through the process of ascertaining the other essential costs, including from the Anaesthetist,
Surgical Assistant, Hospital costs, and Implant costs.
