Knee Fracture Fixation
Knee fracture fixation i.e. of the tibia (shin bone), patella (knee-cap), femur (thigh bone), or fibula (small outer leg bone), may be recommended if you have sustained a fracture. Some fractures of the knee do not require surgical fixation, depending on patient age, fracture age, type of fracture, and degree of displacement, and can instead be managed with a knee brace +/- crutches.
Benefits of Surgery
Enhanced Stability for Healing
Securely fix the fracture fragments, providing the necessary stability for the bone to heal correctly and promoting stronger recovery.
Optimised Knee Function
Restore the proper anatomy of the knee joint, which is essential for regaining full range of motion, strength, and the ability to bear weight comfortably.
Prevention of Malunion
Surgical precision prevents the bone from healing in an incorrect position, which is crucial for avoiding chronic pain and functional deformity.
